Neil H. Dempsey is a journalist and photographer who has published more than 500 pieces in a variety of newspapers and magazines. He founded HeyAmerican.com while living in Uppsala, Sweden, and continues its maintenance now that he’s back stateside in Boston, Massachusetts. When he’s not traveling, Dempsey bides his time freelancing, photographing flowers and trying to convince Vice magazine to pay him for that piece they “bought” back in February 2008.
